Gallery Talks
Join Museum curators, conservators, educators, independent scholars, artists, and graduate students for weekly gallery talks. These talks focus on special exhibitions and interesting themes throughout the collections. Select gallery talks are offered Spanish, Russian, French, and American Sign Language.

One-hour gallery talks are free with Museum admission and start in the Sharf Visitor Center.

Please note: Gallery talks are geared toward an adult audience. See the Youth and Families Programs page for events for children and teens.

Artist Demonstrations
Meet an artist! Over the course of an afternoon, explore the materials and techniques artists use to create their work. Listen to the stories and inspirations behind their artwork and ask them questions about their working process. For all ages.

Drawing in the Galleries
Wednesday, 6-9 pm

Sketch from live models and from objects in our collections. A facilitator provides insights on drawing technique and the artist-model relationship as it informs the creation of artwork. Drawing materials are provided to encourage spontaneous participation. For all ages.

Spotlight Talks
Join MFA curators, conservators, and educators for fifteen-minute presentations about art objects throughout the Museum's collections. Each talk begins in the galleries and focuses on one or two works of art in the gallery.

All Spotlight Talks are free with Museum admission. Talks are geared toward an adult audience.

Artist Toolbox Cart
Discover our newest drop-in program, one that lets you explore the tools and materials that artists use, right in the galleries. Handle artist’s tools and view demonstration pieces that reveal the step-by-step process behind the creation of objects in the Museum’s collection. Knowledgeable staff are available to answer your questions and discuss techniques. Learn about painting and mosaics. This program takes place on Wednesday evenings and weekend afternoons.
